New kids: 6 week trial period FREE. If your child (and you) then decide to continue, the requirement is to then join the Scout Association, pay the membership and become invested. To join, the annual fee is $300, plus $50 joining fee for new members which includes a Scout or Cub uniform. The fees are pro rata for those joining part way through the year.

Joining each term, pn or after the following start of each term:

  • 1 April $50 + $300 = $350
  • 1 July $50 + $237.50 = $297.50
  • 1 October $50 + $175 = $225.00
  • 1 January $50 + $112.50 = $162.50

If you would like to have your child join you will need to complete a Y1 form and, as Cub parents, you need to read this one and then hand the completed application in to one of the leaders.

Note that NSW Scout Groups qualify for the NSW Government Active Kids vouchers! This can be used to offset joining fees and extra activity costs.  Note that this year there are TWO vouchers, the Scout Group is eligible for one or both. The process is explained on joining.

If you want to do more, we are always looking for new Group Committee members to help maintain and manage the Scout Group so that the Scout Leaders and Scouts can get on with Scouting. It’s not enough to have good leadership, it has to be well managed too! It is the Group Committee that allows the Group to realise its goals and build a sense of family in the Group, a ‘Group Awareness’.

We are always looking for new Leaders, especially female leaders!! If you have an adventurous spirit, and want kids to grow into the same adventurous spirit, this could be something for you, and the rewards are awesome! As a leader you get many benefits, not just the intangible reward of a job well done, but discounts on membership, and a great new uniform! For further information, see here.

Payments should be made via bank transfer with these details:
• Account Name: Fairlight Scout Group

• Reference: Include your surname in the reference to make sure we know where the payment has come from!
